Igniting Match Study

A few days ago I set out to capture a match during its ignition.  This study turned out to be incredibly frustrating because I could never capture exactly what I wanted.  So, I give up.  Here is one of the ones I captured today.

Burning Light Bulb Filaments

Yeah, I know I’ve already done this before, but I’m totally uninspired and failing miserably for the second straight day on the one assignment I’ve given myself.  On that cheerful note, here’s some more light bulb filaments igniting:

Water Reflection Abstract

Before I get drilled with questions… shot B&W with blue filter at high contrast. Additional contrast, sharpening, and hue added post. No added texture–that is the surface reflection and the texture from below the surface of the water.

No Unattended Blankets Before 4pm. Please.

Totally ignored my own advice in yesterday’s post – got no sleep last night (every time I closed my eyes, an image of ‘Big Baby‘ from Toy Story 3 popped into my head.  Terrifying.) so I went out to shoot the sunrise (which I somehow managed to be late to anyways).  Good news is I didn’t fall into the ocean like the last sunrise I shot.
