Pierce &amp; Mt. Eisenhower via Crawford Path"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was planning to only do Mt. Pierce today, but when I found myself summiting it nearly an hour earlier than planned, and given the <em>indescribably<\/em> perfect weather, I quickly found myself lumbering towards Eisenhower as well.\u00a0 Zero wind until that peak, not a cloud in the sky, and mid-teens all day.\u00a0 Sitting at the summit and staring up at Mt. Washington<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lessons I Learned On The Trail Today:<\/strong><br \/>\n(1) I&#8217;m very susceptible to peer pressure on the trials.\u00a0 A mere single hiker saying, \u201cYou have to keep going to the next peak\u201d is enough to ensure I do exactly that.<\/p>\n<p>(2) You know that famous Robert Frost poem with the ending: \u201cTwo roads diverged in a wood, and I&#8211; \/ I took the one less traveled by, \/ And that has made all the difference.\u201d\u00a0 Yeah, that guy never hiked in the winter.\u00a0 Let me tell you, I tried taking the path less traveled, and you know what I got out of it?\u00a0 I probably spent a quarter of my day backtracking my own foot steps.<\/p>\n<p>(3) Give me a cup of coffee before a hike and I will fly up the mountain.\u00a0 I probably wasted a good hour taking pictures across the ridge and I still averaged 2 mph the whole hike.\u00a0 I can only imagine if I didn&#8217;t have my camera with me&#8230;.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mbuchholz.com\/photoblog\/pictures\/2010\/01\/20100123-_DSC3575.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1545\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbuchholz.com\/photoblog\/pictures\/2010\/01\/20100123-_DSC3575-444x670.jpg\" alt=\"Near Mt.
